AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Course Information

This page contains only information for the AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Course and the AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring Course offered by LaShounn Stevenson.

Two separate fees apply. The GoalsNMynd instructor fee is paid during registration. The required AWHONN registration and participant materials are purchased separately through Kendall Hunt after your attendance is confirmed.

AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Course

This course addresses principles of fetal heart monitoring and may be used to assess the fetal-monitoring knowledge of experienced perinatal clinicians. It includes lectures and hands-on skill stations covering Leopold maneuvers, placement of an intrauterine pressure catheter and fetal spiral electrode, case-based tracing interpretation, physiologically based interventions, collaborative communication, and risk-management principles. The course may support preparation for certification examinations. The recommended renewal date is every two years.

AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring Course

The Advanced Fetal Monitoring Course expands on the knowledge and physiological principles presented in the AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Course. Using case scenarios, the course focuses on maternal-fetal physiology, complex clinical information, fetal heart-rate tracings, fetal-maternal oxygenation, selection of clinical interventions, and perinatal risk-management principles. The recommended renewal date is every two years.
